Creating a thriving foodplot is a key strategy to attract and sustain wildlife on your land. The right products can make all the difference in boosting plant growth, improving soil health, and ultimately drawing more game. Buck'N Wildlife offers premium products designed specifically by hunters and agronomists who understand the unique needs of Midwest wildlife habitats.

Why Quality Matters in Foodplot Products
Hunters know that not all seed mixes and soil amendments are created equal. Midwest wildlife have specific dietary preferences and nutritional needs that vary by season and species. Buck'N Wildlife products are formulated by hunters and agronomists who combine field experience with scientific knowledge. This ensures that every product supports:
Optimal plant growth tailored to local soil and climate conditions
Nutritional value that attracts deer, turkey, and other game
Sustainability to maintain healthy foodplots year after year
Using high-quality seed blends and soil enhancers reduces wasted effort and expense. Instead of guessing what might work, you get products designed to perform in your region.
Choosing the Right Seed Mix for Your Foodplot
Selecting the right seed mix is the foundation of any successful foodplot. Buck'N Wildlife offers a variety of blends that cater to different goals:
Annual mixes for quick green-up and fast attraction during hunting season such as our Fall Feast, Sweet Treat and Buck'N Crazy.
Perennial mixes that establish long-term forage with minimal replanting such as our Gobbler's Grub or Pollinator's Special.
Specialty blends tailored to unique goals like our Buck'N Cover for screening purposes.
For example, a great spring seeded option is Gobbler's Grub. This blend of premium red and white clovers with chicory is an easy to establish option that can offer many years of attraction and nourishment.
Soil Preparation and Nutrient Management
Even the best seed mix will struggle without proper soil preparation. Buck'N Wildlife offers a full line of fertilizers and amendments (coming soon to the website).
9-23-30 - great for clover and legume plots, as it is low in nitrogen
13-13-13 - a great all purpose, maintenance blend
32-0-8 - great for grains and grasses

Maintenance Tips for Long-Term Foodplot Health
Maintaining a foodplot requires ongoing care beyond planting and fertilizing. Buck'N Wildlife recommends these practices to establish and keep your foodplot productive:
Regular mowing or clipping to prevent weeds in perennial plots from overtaking desirable plants at least twice a year
Following Rate Recommendations - we frequently have customers think that more is better when it comes to planting rates. It's not. Too many plants is usually worse than not enough as they are then having to compete with one another for resources.
Seed at Recommended times - seeding at the wrong times can result in failure. Planting summer species while soils are still cool often results in diseased seedlings that do not perform as expected. Planting fall species too early in July can reduce their palatability because they often dry out before rut in fall.
Take the Next Step Toward Better Foodplots
Maximizing your foodplot success starts with choosing the right products and following proven practices. Buck'N Wildlife offers a range of seed mixes, fertilizers, and soil amendments designed by hunters and agronomists who understand Midwest wildlife needs. By investing in quality products and proper maintenance, you can create foodplots that attract more game and support healthy populations year after year.
