Our seed comes from multiple growers across the country (and occasionally internationally). We work with numerous trusted growers to source premium products at a great value. All of our products are tested for germination and purity, and must meet our standards.
We are blessed to have a rapidly growing business; however, in an effort to keep our team members from being burnt out, we need to reduce some high pressure workload. By allowing us to ship seed instead of having to stop what we are doing to get an order immediately, we are able to reduce the amount of errors and reduce stress. The bulk of our business happens in a six week span, and it is no longer feasible to take in person or phone orders for less than 50# bags.
We appreciate you placing your orders thru the website to allow our team the flexibility to package and ship them as we are available.
No. Unless a product is specifically labeled as ORGANIC, it is conventional seed. Additionally, some of our seed may contain coatings, treatments or inoculants that do not meet organic standards. If you are organic certified and needing organic seed, we ask that you seek a supplier more capable of meeting your needs.
Buck'N Wildlife is an online only retail space for Wildlife Seed. We tend to be in the office during weekday business hours, and will respond to emails as we are able!
We receive hundreds of donation requests per year. As a small business we are unable to fulfill all requests that we receive. Therefore, we have chosen to focus our efforts solely on ag education thru organizations such as FFA, Ag-in-the-Classroom, 4-H, and WIU School of Agriculture in our home county and immediately adjacent counties.
We recommend storing your seed in a cool, dark, dry pest proof container. Areas like basements or closets tend to work well. When properly stored, your seed will likely last several months to years.
Below are some general guidelines on seed lifespan. (Note - these are from our experience, and not a guarantee)
Brassicas (turnips, radish, etc) - 2+ years
Clovers & Alfalfas - 2 years
Grains < 1 year
Native Grasses - 2-3 years
Mixes - 1- 2 years
