Indiangrass is a very attractive grass. It offers beautiful fall color. It is well suited to bedding, habitat corridors, and screening. Can be planted alone or with other native grasses.

Indiangrass tends to be quicker to establish than bluestem, but not quite as rapid as switchgrass. Once fully matured it will often reach heights of 4 to 6 feet.

Indiangrass should not be mowed, but if weeds or other issues are needing managed it can be burnt after the first year.

Seed 6 to 8 pounds per acre or 2 to 3 pounds in a mix. Seed while soil temps are dormant from Dec - March if broadcasting, or drill in March - May.

Pricing is listed for live seed. So for 2 pounds of live seed, you may receive 2.8 or so pounds once we account for the purity and germination! Variety and purity vary throughout the year, so if you would like more info regarding the lot on hand, please send a message!

Native seed is slow to establish. It may take 2 to 3 years. Do not mow during this time.
