German Millet is a summer annual that is typically used for wildlife plots but can be used as an emergency forage. It prefers well drained soils, and cannot handle wet feet. For wildlife plots, allow seed heads to mature and drop seeds. Seed head emergence is roughly 65 days after planting. **German Millet is sometimes called foxtail millet due to it’s appearance, but it is not closely related to giant foxtail and other weedy grasses.

Seed 20 to 30 pounds per acre at 1/2 - 1" depth once soil temps have reached 55 degrees.
