405SC is a sunken crown variety of alfalfa, meaning that it’s growing point stays below the soil surface. This allows it to persist better in situations of high traffic such as fields with lots of wheel traffic, or grazing situations.
 
405SC has an excellent agronomic package and offers very good yield and quality potential. 405SC is the best variety option for a grazing alfalfa!
 
Friendly reminder - alfalfa cannot be successfully seeded into fields with existing alfalfa due to autotoxicity.
 
Seed 25 to 30 pounds per acre for a pure stand or 15 pounds for a mixture with clover and grass.
Alfalfa does best when seeded 1/2" deep instead of broadcast. Drill March - April.
